In ordinary universities laboratories are named after their leaders or what they research, and each of them consists of a professor, some associate professors and some assistant professors. While in KEK, groups are arranged, formally or informally, so that they consist of members best for the experimental projects. This enables us to do our research activities more effectively. The current subject of the research of each member does not necessarily agree with what he/she teaches in SOKENDAI. You should consult with members about their research and experimental projects, and make sure that you choose the right supervisor.
